Grants for Students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

In an effort to provide students with intellectual and developmental disabilities with financial assistance for tuition and fees, the Minnesota Legislature established the Grants for Students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (ID Grant) program.

Who is Eligible?

To qualify for this program, a student must:
  • Be enrolled in and attending an eligible comprehensive transition program.
  • Have tuition and fees not covered by the Federal Pell Grant, State Grant, or institutional aid.
  • Be a Minnesota resident.
  • File a current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or MN Dream Act

How Much Money Can You Get?


Funds may varying from one year to the next year.  Awards are equally distributed among eligible students at eligible and participating institutions.
